Water | Winter (only): After turning off water pump and water
heater, open every water faucet in the house and let the water drain out.
This will offer some protection in case power fails and there is a freeze.
If heat will be off: Drain the blue expansion tank via the garden house spigot in front of it as well - You'll get a gallon or two of water after everything else is drained. This is only required if you know for sure that the house will be without heat in the winter. |

| □ | Doors | All 6 doors must be double-locked. The two porch screen doors must be latched. |
| □ | Dish Washer | Closed and off. Ok to have dirty dishes inside. |
| □ | Windows | All closed and locked. |
| □ | Tractor | Parked in garage, with key in garage. Attachments down, parking brake on. |
| □ | Audio and Video Toys | Push power button on Denon and DVD player so that the button is surrounded by a red ring. Push power on Samsung monitor so that the button (just below the screen) has the red LED lit. Turn the satellite radio off. Turn X-Box off at front panel. Do NOT turn the satellite TV off. |

Other Toys |
Turn them off: Keurig (coffee maker), Piano, Amplifier, scanner, radios, etc. All computer equipment is connected to an octopus power plug - turn off at this plug. |
| □ | Trash | There is no trash pickup, so please take your trash back with you. |
| □ | Lights | All interior lights off, except kitchen range light on dim. Optional: Yard lights (4 lights, two switches) are generally off unless you know that someone will be arriving in a few days. |
| □ | Garage | Lock. Turn thermostat to 40 degrees. |

| □ | Warming Oven | Off. |
| □ | Your Stuff | Remember to take your pets, wallet, keys, prescription drugs and other stuff home with you. |
