January 2000
10 January - Zydeco/Cajun Dance

Zydeco/Cajun Dance series/lessons start on Monday, Jan. 10 at 7:30 at The Relay Town
Hall. This series of dance instruction will prepare you for a trip to Southwestern
Louisianna for an evening of honky-tonking and local music and dance venues. The cost is
$30 per person or $25 per member of the RIA, or $7.00 per class for those cannot attend
the full series. Dance instructors are Norm Helmold, a Louisianna native and Sue Ellen
Malone. Both instructors have taught zydeco/cajun dance widely in the Balt. Wash area.

23 January - Covered Dish Dinner
The Relay-St. Denis January covered dish dinner will be held on
Sunday January 23 at 6pm. Herb and Dolores Plitt will host the covered dish dinner at
their Relay home.
February 2000
21 February - Mini Mardi Gras

7 to 10, at The Relay Town Hall, 1710 Arlington Aveue in Relay,
MD. Pot Luck dinner will be at 7 with dancing to cd's from 8 to 10. Please bring a dish to
share, your own beverages, alcohol ok, dress festive and bring decorations, etc. This is
open to the public so bring friends. There is a $5 charge to cover expenses. A mini dance
class will be offered.

20 February (Sunday) - February
Covered Dish Dinner at Lloyd and Janice Smithson Francis Avenue at 6 pm. Please bring a
dish to share.
March 2000

10 March (Friday) - If you missed him at Relay History Days, don't miss him again. Live in
The Blue Skies Room at the Relay Town Hall. Billy Kemp and the Hula Monster Rhythm Section along
with opening act, Christina Van Norman. 8:00 P.M. til 11:00 P.M.

The Hula Monsters, one of the Webmaster's favorite groups, recently performed at
The Kennedy Center for January 2000. Billy performed with them on two of these
dates. They have also performed in Fells Point, Ellicott City and many other venues.
The Town Hall will rock (and Hula)!
